The Son of God is Risen

It starts -
a soft glow
grows in the east
and lights up the sky -
the sun is risen.

Like so,
Love's bright light
escapes the tomb
to shine o'er the world -
the Son is risen!

The Reign of Christ the King

Rejoice you all, both small and great
Lift up your voice and sing
Because today we celebrate
The feast of Christ the King

Who rules o’er all the worlds He made
And men both quick and dead
And in the Church for which He paid
Of which He is the head

No ruler ever was so just
Or merciful and true
As He who washed His servants feet
And bore their burdens too

“Thy kingdom come” He taught us pray
And so it surely will
And has already in the hearts
Of those who love Him still

So as we end the Christian year
Lets turn to Him again
And give up all our sin and pride
To let Him in us reign.

The Tory Cause - a mission statement in verse

To stand for our country, the Crown and the Church
And all the values the leftists besmirch

To honor the Queen not the Ottawa crooks
And revere fine art, music, taste and old books

To ridicule progress of every kind
And reclaim the good that we have left behind

To love the good things God has placed here below
Like small towns, and farms, and the places you know

To stand up for freedom by night and by day
By saying the things that they say you can’t say.

Winter in Winnipeg - A Sonnet

The milk-white snow drifts deep across the street
Blown by an ice cold wind out of the north.
The sidewalk, slippery with last night's sleet,
Spells doom for those who from their house set forth.

The sun, half-hidden behind thick grey clouds,
Provides a little light but not much heat.
Wool scarves, wrapped tighter than bleak funeral shrouds,
Conceal the face of every one you meet.

There's hoar-frost covering every hydro line
And icicles are hanging from the eaves.
It is so cold that even booze and brine
Have reached the point at which they both will freeze.

All of these things place one thought on the brain -
It's winter time in Winnipeg again!
