Whether or not ...I think this is missing the point. Whether or not evolution occurred (and it did) is not relevant. What is relevant is the metaphysical question of whether or not God is ultimately responsible for any process that occurs within the universe, be it evolution, gravity, photosynthesis or molecular physics. The mistake of philosophical Darwinists (although they will rarely if ever concede to being amateur philosophers at all) is not in stating that organisms evolved via natural selection, but in stating that such a process occurred "naturally" (in the philosophical sense of naturalism).
